The Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine (SIDM) is committed to ensuring
that diagnosis is accurate, timely, efficient and safe. Through a pilot
program entitled, "Expert HealthSearch," SIDM is seeking to connect patients
with medical librarians who can help them find evidence-based information
about their symptoms.
We are interested in talking to patients who have seen a doctor, nurse
practitioner, or physician's assistant about their symptoms in the last 6
months but whose symptoms are not improving. We prefer to interview patients
who are at least one month into the diagnostic journey. All personal health
information will be kept confidential.
Participants in the program will receive an evidence-based report on the
symptoms that are troubling them. In return, participants must agree to
complete a follow-up survey to assess how this information has affected
their subsequent diagnosis or recommendations for treatment.
If you would like to be part of this pilot program, please complete this
brief online survey:https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ZDPLG3D. Patients who
meet the criteria for inclusion will be contacted by a medical librarian to
discuss their symptoms in more detail. Enrollment in this free, the initial
program is limited.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact
