Tim,

You may want to check with an organization known as MITSS - Medically Induced Trauma Support Services. Here is their website - (http://www.mitss.org/history.html )

Subject: [IMPROVEDX] Qualitative studies of second victims

Dear All,

I am currently looking at the experience of clinicians involved in medical error (not just diagnostic errors), often termed the "second victim". I have conducted a number of literature searches to support this, but given the knowledge, expertise and experience of the members of this listserv I was wondering if the members of this list may be able to suggest any additional articles they may be aware of or have themselves published/ contributed to.

Articles I am interested in are those which provide qualitative accounts of the impact of being a second victim. If anyone is able to help with this please feel free to email me with any details.

Thank you in advance, and if you have any questions or clarifications, please feel free to get in touch.

Best wishes

Tim
