Diagnostic management teams?

Fri Dec 5 19:08:20 UTC 2014

Hello all,

I've been following the ideas going back and forth for several months and I've been thinking that Laboratory medicine can and should be much more helpful to our clinical partners. I have been to several seminars discussing the idea of diagnostic management teams. I've attached a link discussing the DMTs that have been put in place at Vanderbilt University Hospital. I would like to organize something like this in my organization and I would very much like to know your opinions - from a clinical point of view. I believe this would improve diagnostic accuracy and save both time (to diagnosis and time in hospital) and money.
