Reviving autopsies to improve diagnosis and advance medical science

Dear ListServ Group:

At the SIDM Research Forum meeting in Atlanta last September, we had an excellent discussion at our table about the value of autopsies for research and improvement of diagnosis, and we lamented their decline.  Well, the autopsy is not dead yet!  Recent efforts to “revive” the autopsy at Hopkins and other places are breathing life back into the autopsy!  I bring this up now because Melinda Beck has written a very nice article on the subject in the Wall Street Journal this week.  The URL for the article is here:
