Simple things

Some of the offices I see have such low levels of competence in the
clerical settings/front desk/greeting/answering the DAMN phone and so on
that I KNOW that must impede care. I have seen a lot of turn over in the
front, and what appears to be a general lack of system. How do you raise
the level of simple organizational competence in such a setting?

When the patient coming into a waiting room can see upheaval, hear it
coming from the inner hallways, and assume that this is the nature of the
office, it is impossible to have confidence in the setting. Other than
walking out--easy if you could also take your records then and there--what
is a patient to do?
