Today's Wall St Journal has a story about an initiative from the radiology
dept at NYU Langone MC. The dept chairman had a memory of radiologists
joining long-ago in-person ward rounds.then one day he experienced a live
chat on the Disneyland website. Putting the 2 ideas together, he came up
with virtual rounding process that permits the physicians physically
rounding on the pediatric intensive care and oncology services to consult
the hospital radiologists online real-time during their rounds. Stanford
University has made some progress in connecting PCPs with radiologists
online. Other efforts are described.

Yes! If there can be a night hawk radiology service, why not a dial-up
virtual chat site service between attendings and radiologists?
