As recently featured in their blog<http://macyfoundation.org/news/entry/health-professions-education-improve-diagnosis-medicine>, the Macy Foundation has awarded the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine a 36-month grant to develop an interprofessional, consensus curriculum on diagnosis and diagnostic error. The specific objective of this project is to develop a competency-based, curriculum that supports the ultimate goal of health profession training: Producing clinicians who are highly competent in diagnosis per se, and in supporting the diagnostic process. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce the harm from diagnostic error. The executive committee is comprised of the following members: Andrew Olson, Beth Nelson, Brenda Zierler, Carol Durham, Cristin Colford, Frank Papa, Jean Johnson, Jennifer Myers, Joseph Rencic, John Luk, Mark Graber, Meg Zomorodi, Mike Gilchrist, and Pat Croskerry. Please feel free to distribute to your own networks and stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this very important and much-needed work.
