A.I. Versus M.D. - Recent article in The New Yorker

Very similar article, albeit more detail, in latest issue of the MIT Alumni
magazine.  In a nutshell, AI via deep neuronal networks can create
knowledge and be very good at detecting diseases/terror threats/financial
predictions etc but due to the inherent nature of the process is very bad
at explaining WHY/HOW it reaches its conclusions. Humans are reluctant to
accept "black box" advice regarding life and death situations in the
absence of such explanations.
