The recently released Institute of Medicine report, “Improving Diagnosis in
Health Care” highlights the important problem of diagnostic errors in
health care and suggests that all of us will likely experience a meaningful
diagnostic error in our lifetimes. Our educational series will explore the
scope of the problem and describe ways to address it. On June 21, our live
webcast will discuss steps hospitals can take, including implementing novel
diagnostic safety programs.
Guest speakers include Dennis Torretti, MD, FACP, Geisinger Health System,
Hardeep Singh MD, MPH, Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and Baylor
College of Medicine, and Helen Haskell, MA, president of the nonprofit
patient safety organization Mothers Against Medical Error.
