Up-To-Date improved diagnosis

Is the main reason for the dramatic improvement in diagnostic accuracy for the group using UpToDate the quite shocking error rate of the group who weren’t – a 24% diagnostic error rate in Outpatients does seem unusually high. Or was that just due to the case mix?

I am not impressed with Up-to-Date resources and recommendations for pediatrics, thus I always suggest to use different resources to my pediatric resident.

Does a willingness to use Up-to-Date or similar tools indicate that these doctors were also willing to learn, to grapple with uncertainty, and to keep an open mind?

If Up-to-Date is not properly evidence-based in its recommendations, is there another tool of its sort that is appropriately evidence-based?
