It is a great pleasure to announce that our official SIDM journal, DIAGNOSIS<https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/dx>, has been accepted for listing in PubMed. PubMed is considered the ‘go to’ search engine guiding medical research and clinical decision-making. PubMed listing of our articles and editorials creates the opportunity for increasing both the visibility and the popularity of these publications worldwide.

Successful coverage of DIAGNOSIS articles in the PubMed database represents a significant accomplishment for our young journal. Listing has become highly competitive, like applying for a grant: Journals are judged on 20 different metrics in regard to the quality of accepted articles, the quality of editorial review and publication, importance to the field, and adherence to best publication practices and principles. On a scale of 1 to 5, journals must score at least 3.75 for listing.

All articles going forward will be indexed automatically, and all articles published to date will also be included retrospectively. This includes the inaugural issue, a now-collectable set of 30 essays from thought leaders in the field, and both special issues (one on diagnostic issues in coronary artery disease<https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/dx.2016.3.issue-4/issue-files/dx.2016.3.issue-4.xml> and most recently on Radiology<https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/dx.2017.4.issue-3/issue-files/dx.2017.4.issue-3.xml>). DIAGNOSIS is also the venue for publishing abstracts presented at the annual Diagnostic Error in Medicine Conference.

For all you authors out there – we would welcome your research papers, reviews, opinion pieces and case reports. Your article will reach the entire community interested in the quality and safety of diagnosis, and contribute to the progress in our rapidly-growing field.
