Correlation, Causation and Confusion

Hi Rob

It certainly is complex, but it is a reality when trying to find a way to navigate through all of the potential variables, using the technologies of today to make sense of it.

The author is evidently a statistician with the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute.

This article was forwarded to me by Data Scientists I know (primarily AI).

Complex Bob,

I think the complexity of diagnosis should be well understood by the list. Need to read the article to the end.

As we unravel causation it will become more more an more apparent that many things are often responsible for what seems to be a single causation disease. The involvement of the immune system in so many conditions come to mind.

Could you get the opinion of one or two statisticians before posting? Was the writer a scientist?

Did the question e-mail get posted to the list. I think it did - no reply yet.

Trust all well with you.

Rob
