Dear Diagnosis Community,

The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), part of the SIDM coalition has an open call for content for its annual meeting, HM20 in San Diego, April 15-18th, 2020.

SHM has had a great Diagnostic Reasoning track the past years and just wrapped up last week at its annual meeting with another fantastic line up with multiple posters, oral abstracts on Diagnostic Error & Reasoning and the following selected sessions:

Stump the Professor Sessions by Goop Dhaliwal, Shannon Martin as the discussants, presented by Janice Kwan & Ketino Kobaidze
Pitfalls & Myths in Diagnosis by Andrew Olson & Reza Manesh
Opening the Black Box - How Do we Actually Make Diagnoses? by Denise Connor.
From Practicing Medicine to Deliberately Practicing Medicine - Tools and Strategies to Improve Your Diagnostic Skills - Andrew Olson, Reza Manesh, Patrick Rendon, Benji Mathews
Research Shark Tank - Hardeep Singh among other faculty
The Second Victim: Supporting Providers While Providing an Appropriate Response to Error - Albert Wu
Strengthening your culture of Safety: Karyn Baum, MaryEllen Pfeiffer

Thank you to each of you who came out and supported and/or presented at the annual conference.

I would invite those in our Diagnosis community to nominate themselves or others for didactics and workshop proposals for HM20 in San Diego. I'll be serving as the course director for the meeting and would love to see many submissions. An open call for content for SHM members and non-members is available via: hospitalmedicine.org/speak20

Submit your proposals by Monday, April 15th! Thank you!
