Paul Bergl, MD
Paul Bergl, MD, Assistant Professor in Critical Care Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, will be presenting on his article "Frequency, risk factors, causes, and consequences of diagnostic errors in critically ill medical patients -- A retrospective study."
Dr. Bergl graduated medical school from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his residency and a chief resident year at the University of Chicago. He previously served as assistant professor in general internal medicine at MCW and has completed one-year fellowships in medical education and diagnostic medicine (the latter through the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicine).
As a clinician-educator, Dr. Bergl's scholarly interests include teaching and assessing diagnostic reasoning, identifying and understanding causes of diagnostic error in the intensive care unit, and promoting bedside rounding and teaching. Dr. Bergl was a SIDM Fellow in Diagnostic Excellence in 2017.
